Are there any colleges besides yale and harvard that have residential colleges? im applying scea to yale but im in need of some safties that are similar to yale in case shudders im in the unlucky 90%. which is, in all likelihood, a good possibilty.
things im lookin for:
preferably east coast
res colleges if possible
smallish-medium size
campus
near a big city, maybe in one...just not in the middle of nowhere.

Rice: not on the east, but fits your criteria otherwise. Small, right inside Houston, residential colleges, with a beautiful campus.

Note: not a safety school. But another plus, tuition is about 10k less than other private universities.

Seconded. I was just about to suggest the same school!

Edit: And yes, Rice is certainly not a safety. Does Princeton not have residential colleges?

thanx to all...
rice is too far for me. princeton was my #1 choice for a while, but im turned off by the eating clubs and that can hardly be called a match let alone a safety. so-any other ideas?

I'd say Santa Clara University is a good safety school that fits your criteria...well except the east coast preference. They have RLCs (Residential Learning Communities) which are the same concept as the residential colleges at Yale.
