I recently received a likely letter, and I am really excited to hopefully attend my now top choice! However, money is really important in making my decision. Could receiving a likely letter mean that I could also get decent financial aid, or at least that they would be negotiable.
A likely letter is about acceptance to the school only. Just be patient…and see what you get for financial aid. I hope you have a complete financial aid application!
Have you run the NPC on their website to get a rough calculation of aid? If it’s an Ivy or Ivy like school there will be no merit aid just need based aid.
From other threads…looks like the likely letter came from Yale.
The school has very generous need based aid…do you qualify for need based aid.
Have you gotten a financial aid package from MIT? I would think that the package from Yale would be at least as good as MIT, probably better.
