Likely Letter and Interview

I just received a likely letter, but I also got an e-mail requesting an interview. Is it normal for an applicant who receives an LL to have an interview? Should I clarify with the interviewer that i have an LL? Would the interview be cancelled?

If I do have the interview, what questions should I be prepared for?

Congratulations! No need to prepare. Show up and talk about what you should be doing at Columbia if you decide to attend the interview (you can always tell the person about likely and see if he/she still wants to talk).

Since you are in ED process, you are locked in which means there is absolutely no reason to meet someone unless YOU want to.

I would definitely attend the interview; it’s for you to ask as well as answer questions. However, the circumstances just go to show that alumni interviews are in great part for the alumni, to keep them engaged and connected with the school; they count for little in the application process. Congratulations on the Likely Letter!

I wasn’t aware that they send likely letters for ED. Are you a recruited athlete?

What are your stats?
