Wondering if anyone has received notifications for an interview or likely letter? If so, please share.
This is rather too early for a likely letter. I think likely letters are sent to the top RD applicants who will almost likely be accepted to many other elite schools, in order to entice them to come to Penn. I do not see the point in sending likely letters to ED applicants, and i bet they don’t send any.
^^ Exactly. Likely letters in the early rounds of the Ivies typically go to recruited athletes to reassure them of their acceptance. I’ver never heard of a non-athlete getting a likely letter, especially to and ED school. What’s the point?
Interviews will start about the end of this month and continue into November up to the report deadline (sorry, don’t know the report deadline yet - it is usually 1 month before decisions are made. Report deadline, if you don’t know, is the drop dead date the interviewer has for report submitting.
I have only seen likelies for athletics during ED. The academic likelies, in my experience, are in RD.
Looks like the interviews are starting up. Got a welcoming email. Dates not confirmed yet.
Has anyone received notifications from any Ivy or top colleges?
^^Got a similar email from Penn, saying that we are likely to soon be contacted by interviewers as offers have already started
When did you submit your application?
October 8
My interviewer contacted me this morning.
I am pretty scared after looking him up on the internet… :(( :((
Don’t worry too much about it. My son had a terrible interview. His interviewer was a doctor and he was a Fine Arts major applicant. The only thing they had in common is that he has diabetes and she understood what that meant when a person’s blood sugar goes high (which it was the day of the interview). He was admitted, so I don’t think interviews carry much weight. My oldest son had his worst interview with his SCEA school to which he was admitted. So there ya go.
Waiting for my interviewer. In the meantime, got my Math II subject test score. Got a 770 (lower than expected). Is it still worthwhile submitting to uPenn?
Think Penn requires all tests taken, so absolutely yes.
@TheSmartKidd When did you submit your app?
Good luck for your interview!!
I haven’t submitted my application yet. So does that mean I will receive an interview after November 1? So nervous lol
I only submitted my ACT - since you can submit either the ACT or SAT.
@shivaya that is not true!!! You have to submit both!

For SAT Subject test(s), I think you only submit the one(s) you choose to and not everything you have taken.
Nowhere does this state what you are saying
Penn has always said that they need ALL testing history - SAT, ACT, subject tests: ALL ATTEMPTS
@shivaya I actually emailed them and they said we have to submit all SAT subject tests, too.
Just remember likely letters are not the end all be all of admissions. I have a friend who got a likely letter for Cornell last application year while a few other friends and I did not; we still got in.
