“I am writing to let you know how much the Cornell Engineering Admissions Committee enjoyed reading your application. Your academic and personal achievements are outstanding and, although the Ivy League schools will not officially notify students of their admission decisions until the end of the month, I am pleased to inform you that you are very likely to be admitted to Cornell.”

If the email just said “very likely to be admitted to Cornell”, does that still mean that there is a small chance that I would not be admitted?

I got one today NOT for the diversity hosting thing but instead I was awarded as a Pauline and Irvine Tanner Dean’s Scholar and that there are 40 of them in each class??
And then it has the same “you will very likely be admitted to Cornell University” later on in the letter!
@jetynz I got that letter too! Judging from the letter, it seems to be quite an honor, as only 40 people total receive a letter like that. Be proud! 
Pretty sure more than 40 receive the letter. They offer it in planning for about that many matriculations. But yes a great honor!
