Likely Letter - Coming Out at March

wow, I don't have ANY national creds. Good job guys! My biggest thing is being columbian and hispanic? I guess? I've never won any award outside of my school other than sports, etc. My school is like a little bubble and if I leave the city once every 5 months, I'm lucky.

Yeah, I've heard people say my AP Calc class (the B+) is harder than most college algebra courses. (excepting multivariable) OUr teacher gives us quizzes from the teacher before her, who died, so I always walk around saying this dead guy is owning me in calculus. It's true!

oh yeah, I had straight A's up to that point.....MERG!!!

A likely is a super accept? Sweet Jesus!

Saibondy--What´s the reason for your grade decline? Laziness, harder courseload?

And yeah, I´m not sure exactly what the wording of your letter was (although I´d actually be curious and I´m sure others would be too, if you want to post a snippet!), but it probably mentioned (like the Yale letter linked to in the earlier pages did) that it´s a very rare thing to get and only for very special applicants. lol basically it means they really like you. They will probably be courting you continuously now, too, to perk your interest in them. It´s a good thing!! So the grade slip probably shouldn´t be enough to turn that strong connection into a rejection letter. But if you want to call and ask, no harm in doing so.

lol good job Derick.

And his stats are good, just so you all know.

My grade decline would be I think attributed to absolute overexertion and illness (severe anemia and hip injures), harder courseload, and lots and lots of time commitments that I didn't have last year. (everyone at my school decided to get lazy and the editor in chief and features editor decided to QUIT and leave me with all the work, I mean, I was doing all the work anyway, but still) I pulled my grades up a lot before midyears, but then I got one of those back injuries where you can't leave your bed. I'm falling apart!

wow, sailbondy, i'm so sorry for all of that! i hope things get better soon. and hey, don't forget that you have a harvard likely letter to make you feel better!! :) if the people in Byerly Hall do become concerned with your grade drop, explain your situation to them. they'll understand. hey, congrats again on your likely!
