<p>If it's any consolation, I was initially wait-listed at Georgetown before being admitted in early May of my senior year.</p>

<p>Of course, that was over a decade ago. :( If it's really where you want to go, though, let the admissions folks know. They, like any college, want people who want them.</p>

I guess I ended up having the exact opposite experience than your nephew. I was wait-listed at Georgetown but accepted at Notre Dame and Virginia. ND has been my no. 1 all along and its down to ND/UVa/ and Ohio State for me.</p>
