Do those who have received likely letters have an extra link in their Dartmouth account? It seems as if students from previous years had this?

I’m not sure if it is an extra link, but I have a link now that says Dartmouth 2015 that has a line below saying “Curious? We hope so. If you haven’t already received an update from us, you will soon.” I don’t remember seeing this before, but I only checked initially to make sure my app was in.

My letter is dated January 27th

I really wasn’t expecting one, I mean my ACT score isnt really Dartmouth quality. I got a 28…
Umm I have a 3.99 GPA, Valedictorian,
Many summer programs and extracurriculars but by far my biggest achievement was being 1 of 4 students chosen from the WHOLE state of Texas to win a full paid scholarship to study in England for the summer

I am a Hispanic female attending probably the ghetto-est high school in Houston. Lol
I am also first generation college student.

Im truly astonished since I haven’t even had my interview yet. Does this mean we are in? Because my hopes are really up!!!

Also, the letters were postmarked on January 27th. As said before, I sent in my app on January 6th, so they read it very quickly. I am black, so that might have helped. I have a 2300, a 4.0 unweighted and a ~4.5 weighted, with my grades averaging out to a 98, and a very long list of extracurriculars. I would say my grades are my biggest strength, as well as my well-rounded EC list. I just feel so blessed. The likely letter definitely does help relax me. Also, I’m from Dallas, in case anyone was wondering how long it took.

Does this mean we are in?
I mean what can prevent us from not getting in, I dont want to mess it up bc I really want to get in!!!

Yes, yellow745, we are in! It’s sooooooo exciting! The only reason we wouldn’t get in is if we failed all of our classes or if we got arrested or if we plagiarized our essays, or something crazy like that! Celebrate! Is Dartmouth your first choice?

I mean Columbia WAS my first, since I applied ED but I got defered
Im still hoping for Columbia to pull through. But Dartmouth isnt bad at all.

Yeah, that’s awesome. I’m sorry about Columbia, but maybe they’ll come to their senses haha. Harvard is still my first choice, but Dartmouth is looking so appealing right now, especially since it is so hard to get into Harvard. Best of luck in with Columbia!

Thank you and Good Luck with Harvard! I applied there too. If Dartmouth gave us the green light hopefully our #1 choices will too!!!

That’s what I’m hoping for!

I’m so thankful, I got a likely letter today! It was kind of ironic though because I had my Dartmouth interview this evening as well haha.

Do all of you likely letter recipients now have an extra tab on your Dartmouth log-in?

Did any of you attend Dartmouth Bound last summer?

My son has an extra tab connecting him to Dartmouth Class of 2015 site.

He did not attend Dartmouth Bound.

Does everyone have that tab? It is on the far right. I am skeptical it means anything as it shows up even before I log in.

Hello again! Yes, I do have the extra tab on the website. Also, I realized yesterday that my username/password works to sign me into the Class of '15 Directory. Just some other info: no, I did not attend Dartmouth Bound, however I did visit on my own. Some quick stats: 4.0, 33 ACT, 720 & 780 Subject Test scores, Clarinet/Music extracurricular, TONS of community service stuff, tried to play up the whole “varied interest” thing in my application (while still focusing on a few core activities). I hope this is helpful to anyone!

I also did not attend Dartmouth Bound. I haven’t even had a chance to visit yet, but I do have the extra tab and it allows me to sign into the Class of 2015 Directory.

Congratulations, guys! I understand that a lot of you are excited, but are still hoping for good news from other schools. As much as I wish this weren’t the case, I’ll give my experience to shed some light on what may happen in the near future for you guys.

I applied to 9 schools last year. I applied to Stanford early, where I was accepted. In early February, I received a likely letter from Dartmouth, which I think boded well for the rest of my schools. In the next month and a half, I received likely letters from Yale, the University of Pennsylvania, Duke, and Vanderbilt. I was also accepted to all the schools from which I didn’t receive likely letters (Princeton, Washington University in St. Louis, and Emory).

So, based on my experience, all of you guys should have quite a few favorable decisions coming your way. Dartmouth has identified you as the best in an applicant pool of over 20,000. You should be proud and excited. Hopefully, all of you give Dartmouth a fair chance in April. I’m sure glad I did.

Thanks Dartmouth Forever, the advice really helps!

I received my letter yesterday too! It’s such a relief – Dartmouth isn’t my first choice, but I’m strongly considering it now that I have the letter. I’m still in shock! I’ve never visited, nor have I been contacted for an interview, but now I have the extra link on my applicant status page. Quick stats: 2390 SAT (800 CR 800 M 790 W), 4.0 unweighted GPA, National Merit Semifinalist, pretty good ECs, 720 and 790 on subject tests. No real hooks: ORM from CT, and I’m not an athlete.

Congrats to everyone who got one!
