So I got an email from the admissions office today, and I am not sure it is a likely letter or not:

Dear biologeek,

Thank you for submitting your application to Duke University. I am writing to see if you are interested in switching your application from the Pratt School of Engineering into our Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. After reviewing your application, the admissions committee feels that your application would be more competitive for admission to our Trinity College of Arts & Sciences.

If you choose to switch your application to Trinity College and ultimately enroll at Duke, it would be very possible to create a first-year schedule that would meet the needs of both Trinity and Pratt. Then, at the end of the first year, if you wanted to transfer into Pratt, it would be simple to make that transfer happen -- assuming, of course, that you had done well in your introductory calculus and science courses. This transfer would still allow you to graduate within four years if you select your first-year classes appropriately.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via email.

I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. Thanks for your consideration, biologeek!

I feel like if they were going to reject me, they would not have wasted the time to send me the email. I'm not sure if this means that I am in if i decide to switch to Trinity, or that they will send my application to Trinity to be reviewed if I agree.

I would like your feedback as to whether or not anyone thinks this is a likely letter or if anyone has received anything similar. Thank you. :]
