It's nice to know that I have one option in the US, seeing as there have been a number of students from my school who have come out with no acceptances to the US.
I'm not really sure how strongly I feel about Cornell ATM, but I have a month to think about it!

Has anyone been to the Cornell Days thing before, what is it like? worth trekking upstate new York for?

I wish I could go, but I'll have my exams excatly on those days. Congrats LadyLou! I guess that you've probably been accepted at Ox/Cam or some London University? I know choosing between the US and UK is hard, but keep in mind that you're gonna have more of a college life in the US. Neither Oxbridge nor the London Unis have a real campus, so Cornell would really give you this "Wow I'm at college" feeling.

I got a few UK acceptances as well, but i'm looking at the US purely for the liberal arts experience. So really it's up to you and what you want out of college.

Yepp, I've been to both places. Oxbridge does not have a real campus in the traditional sense. All the colleges are just scattered and you eat and live in your own college. They're not directly connected, at least not in my opinion. Also ppl at the LSE have told me that they don't really get this college feeling, because their halls are so far away from the school. High Holborn is one of the closer ones and still 10 minutes away. I guess you just don't get this college bubble feeling in London. But just my two cents...

Congratulations to all that received the likely letters!!!! I got mine today too and I am an international from Bulgaria. I am so happy, I did not expect to be admitted anywhere in the USA at all and now.. CORNELL!!!
But we still can have troubles with the financial aid package so nothing is for sure.. anyway :D this is great news, congaratulations once again

I got a likely email!!! I'm not international, but living abroad, and I have to say I love emails! (takes at least 2 weeks for snail mail to arrive) I can't believe this!!!

Congrats to everyone else!!!

(What are the chances that we might not get accepted though?)

Have you ever been to Trinity college at Cambridge? What do you mean by campus...the towns themselves are campuses! Yea you eat and dine there but you are part of the Oxbridge community and share resources. My friends there are all in different colleges but all of them interact with each other. None have ever really said anything negative about the atmosphere there.

There is a reason why the colonists wanted to model their colleges (residential college etc) after Oxbridge :).

LSE on the other hand is kind of like going to NYU but with shabbier resources.

Hey..just got my likely letter today..asian from Canada

anyone knows whether Cornell gives out financial assistance to international student..if so..what percentage will get it (I mean...out of those who have applied)...

Congratulations to everyone who got likely letter/email. I got one too! :)

I thought they were smoking me when I got the email. But I guess it was likely. International (Malaysian) for CoE. So....now that we are likely admitted, is it fairly certain that we will get finaid? I requested for about 60% aid.
