I just got a likely letter in the mail today! I'm in!!! =)

did u apply to Human Ecology?

nope, college of arts and sciences! gov't major!

Are you going there over NYU fo sho?

Congrats sudaneya4ever!

i wonder how many likely letters cornell sends and did they just start or has it been going on? (for colleges besides engineering and all those rolling schools)

congrats!!

i'm not even sure if i'm going to cornell.. i might end up at duke. and brand_182.. of COURSE i'd pick cornell over NYU GSP (i STILL cant believe that!)

oh, and it didnt say on the letter how many they send out. All i can tell you is that it was post-marked on the 9th of march.. so i guess theyre still sending em out!

Is it possible that Cornell would send a likely letter to ALL admitted students?

no, they don't send them to all. Just because you don't get a likely letter doesn't necessarily mean you won't be accepted...

CAS likely letter today...sweet.

So WHO gets them? And are they sent from the actual admissions office or do individual admissions counselors send them to accepted students in their region?

This kind of worries me, that I didn't get one... Cornell is one of my top choices.

But wait... Do they send likely letters primarily to URMs?

I just looked, and the two students on this thread who received them were URMs (African-American and Hispanic).

has anyone from engineering gotten one yet?

ppl who got them today..what state do you live in?

bluejay & one_voice, directly from admissions office, and, yes, I'm indeed Hispanic...letter included a glossy on multicultural Cornellian profiles.

I recieved one this afternoon, and am black; there was a profile of two minority Cornellians (a black male and a Boricua female) enclosed with the letter.

What states have received these "likely letters"?

hey i want one! Congrats sudaneya4ever! but im intl; so maybe im not supposed to get one?

URM's receive them....nothing big
