Did the likely recipients receive any prior notification via email or did you just get the letter initially in the mail? Is there any change in your Brown portal?

There’s no change in the brown portal - I received mine in mid-January and everything’s the same online. And no I don’t believe there’s any email notification for academic likely letters. The admissions office never contacted me directly, but I was aware when mine was mailed and whatnot. Just remember that most Ivy students never see a likely letter - as has been stated before, there’re so hard to come by! And I know Brown is especially difficult to procure one from. Best of luck!

rkay- No, I am not (have never been involved in any sport actually).

Nope, I did not receive prior notice via email, which I assume is just how Brown rolls in this case. I think most other Ivies do send something electronically first though. Have any other Brown likelies received any e-mail indication? They’ve sent nothing my way.

Trust me, I’m so surprised! Don’t give up hope. Most people that get into Ivy Leagues don’t receive likely letters. I’m sure you are very accomplished and you should be proud of yourself.

I GOT A LIKELY LETTER, AHHHHHH I LOVE BROWWWWN

a

Wow, never expected to receive one (I play tennis, but not college level…), but we received the cool-looking gate letter today! I’m thrilled.

Congrats to all!

@ ivyhopeful15: It doesn’t seem like they give any prior notice. I received no emails since the application confirmation email.

wait I’m curious as to what the academic likely letters look like!! Mine was athletic and just came in a thin envelope with the seal on the upper left… beauty. But gate letters? Pray tell! Hahah - are any of the people who got likely letters going? I’ll see you next year! :)

Mine was a brown colored three-part layout inside the envelope. The top flap of the three-part said BROWN. Inside was a double-flap with a picture of the gate slit in the middle so that when you opened the flaps, it was like the gate “opened” onto the letter itself.

Very cool, I think. The letter itself just said stuff about achievement inside and outside the classroom, etc.

Brown is one of my top choices, but I haven’t received anything from the other colleges yet so I’m not sure where I’ll go. I was there for the Summer@Brown program last summer, and I loved it, so I’m sure I’d love attending the college as well!

Yeah, I thought the way they presented it was very cool. It was definitely unique and I appreciated it. The other letters came in a standard envelope, but this on tricked me lol

It looked like chocolate… my first thoughts. I agree, very nice on their part.

So brown dosen’t send liklies via e-mail??

^Violator

I don’t believe so. I received my letter in the mail.

Does anyone know how long Brown will be sending out likely letters?

it’s usually two weeks before the decisions come out. After that, none.

I’d assume that they’re basically done sending out likely letters. Most of them go out pretty early on.

The window for Likely Letters is October 1 to March 15.

I received a likely letter today.

Congrats,ST.I can’t think of anyone here more deserving than you.

That’s great, silverturtle! That makes two, at Brown and Columbia, correct?

Either way, it is a relief to know that there is some justice in the world after all.

Sweet! We seem to have the same luck. Which is your first choice? I am on the fence, despite how different Columbia and Brown are curriculum-wise (each offers enticing options).
