Likely Letters

Maybe some of you that have previously experience the whole process might be able to shed light on this. I am applying to Columbia and have not received a likely letter. Do most candidates receive these? If I haven't by now, should I basically count myself out? I want to be realistic about this.

Most candidates don’t receive one, and that’s why you haven’t heard of them until recently.

do you know what percentage of the admitted class does receive likelies? is it usually given to like super top candidates? cuz if it is then im not surprised i didnt receive one…

Yes, they are usually given to only the top candidates. I’m assuming the number wouldn’t be above 100-200 sent out.

Like lullinatalk said, the vast majority of acceptees do not receive one.

And of that number, many go to athletes.
