Likely Letters

DS got one today by snail mail
Actually, it was addressed to us,his parents ;)

Congratulations! What were stats like?

@Starter - look it up, I have already posted it somewhere

Getting mentally prepared for rejection
guess a 2400 and a perfect GPA only take you so far if you are Asian
sigh

satrocks: Its a tough world out there Bruddah so just get used to it. You will get in somewhere amazing and go on and do awesome things, but self pity is NOT a trait to develop. Be grateful for being in your position. Good luck.

satrocks, there are plenty of Asians at D. The fact is that perfect stats only go so far at Ivies for ANYONE. Good luck.

Anyone know when the next wave of likelies comes?

I doubt there will even be another wave of likelies. We’re approaching the home stretch in terms of waiting for decisions, and any other likelies/guaranteed acceptances would probably be sent out with all of the other decisions. I could be wrong though.

Brown and Harvard were showing some action earlier this week. According to the Ivy agreement, likely letters can be sent to recruited athletes up to March 15. One might infer the same is true for letters to others, but that is close enough to the regular date that it may not be very likely that more will be sent.

There is usually a final wave in the beginning of March. But since most accepted students do not receive one, don’t sweat it.

I never got invited for an interview
What does that say about my chance of acceptance? I live in San Diego if that matters.

Country20: It’s irrelevant. Interviews depend on number of applicants and number of available alumni willing to do them. It does not reflect an evaluation of your application.

I know an Early Action deferred candidate from Yale who just received an athletic likely letter. He had not hand any contact with the coach since the Early Action deadline, so it was a big (and happy) surprise!

I received a likely letter today dated March 8th for those interested.

What part of the country do you live in, NoSurprises? So we can all know if we should be looking for mail too!

DD got a LL in Hawaii today (3/18). Probably in the last round of LLs. Still, very happy to have that one in the bank.

Did any international get one (and if yes, when)?

Congratulations to your daughter. I have one question tho. If u did apply for financial aid, Wat is the status in the financial aid portal?

I got my likely letter yesterday!
