Does Cornell send likely letters?

If so, when are they usually sent?

Does Cornell send likely letters?

If so, when are they usually sent?

I may be wrong, but I don't think Cornell does... I haven't heard anything anyways

The School of Engineering does:

The College of Arts and Science does. I know some people that have received them a few weeks back.....

most CAS likely letters go to URMs

i heard most engineering ones go to girls.

does anyone know if it's all accepted girls or just the top ones they're 100% about?

i dont know for sure...but i would think only the top girls, not all accepted girls.

I got accepted to CALS shortly after 2/15/07, but did not receive a likely letter, or any sort of communication from Cornell until then. I'm thrilled with my acceptance!!

Someone applying to HE got some literature in the mail sharing the 3/29 at 5:00 PM.

So it looks like 3/29 @ 5:00 PM will be it

bluejay, what do you mean by literature? literature saying that 3/29 5PM will be the acceptance release date?

so has anyone on here gotten anything from a college that DOESN'T do rolling admissions? In the link that was posted the letters weren't even mailed until March 7, but that was four years ago...

anyways, does anyone know?

I'm just really confused about how Cornell releases decisions...

I'm a dude and I got a likely letter for College of Engineering. But that was 4 years ago. It was so sneaky and conniving: "While we can't officially let you know yet..."

By literature I mean on paper. Not sure what else was in the packet (?) but did include the information that said to log on March 29 at 5:00 PM. I hate to read too much into it but it clearly was not a mass e-mail to all applicants notifying them of the log on date and time. This came from Human Ecology. Kind of uncomfortable to ask too many questions when you didn't get this same letter. Sorry I can't add more.

I emailed someone from cornell and she told me about march 29 (ive been in contact with her for a while). Not by mail-international mail is slow. Also by the time my application was complete (december- i was deferred) i was contacted by a freshman who apparently works in the admissions office. Is this just me or its the same with everybody?

did you apply to HE because a friend of mine got a phone call from a student too as did other HE applicants on CC

yea i did apply to HE

I know the regular notification date is 3/29, and it seems that HE is calling applicants (but I am not sure why). But does anyone know if there are likely letters for non HE, non-rolling schools (like CAS, Engineering, etc.), or has anyone heard anything from these schools?

We got some requests from the financial aid office for some additional financial information. Reading into things .... I wonder if that means they are working on S's financial aid package.... Would they work on his financial aid package if he were not accepted? Just hopeful thinking, maybe, but I'm keeping optimistic!!
