I got this message today,

Dear Robert,

I serve as the Director of Undergraduate Studies for my academic department here at NYU’s College of Arts and Science, and I understand from the Admissions Office that you may be considering pursuing a major in my field or a related area. I invite you to be in touch with me, as you consider your options over the next few weeks, if you have questions about your academic plans.

NYU is remarkable for its combination of academic rigor and the quality of student life. Undergraduate research and faculty mentoring are two defining characteristics of the college experience here. I hope that you will also come to appreciate both our academic strengths and the strong connection we have as faculty with our students.

You can find links to information about majors, minors, and honors programs in the College at NYU > A & S > Majors and Minors. More than this, I hope that you won’t hesitate to write back to me with any specific questions you may have--I’ll be glad to answer you by e-mail or set up a time for us to speak by telephone. Just let me have your contact information and, if you want me to call you, tell me the best time.

Should you have questions about Admissions, you can visit their website at NYU > Undergraduate Admissions, or call them at 212-998-4500 and ask to speak to a member of the CAS team. You can reach the Financial Aid Office at 212-998-4444 or via the Admissions website.

Thank you for your interest in NYU. Again, if you have questions or concerns about our academic programs, I would be very glad to hear from you.

Sincerely,

John Chioles
