Does H send likely letters/phone calls to ea applicants, especially if theyre recruited athletes?

Harvard does send likely letters to highly recruited athletes. Usually, the athlete has already committed to coming to Harvard from previous conversations with the coach after the long process of recruiting. Often the athlete has requested the likely letter to test whether s/he is a top recruit in the SCEA cycle. For fall SCEA athletic recruits, the letters can begin to be sent Oct. 12, according to Ivy League guidelines.

There are also a few academic likely letters sent out in the winter months, Feb & March, to the most highly desired non-athletes.
