Does the admissions office give some of the 100 "non-athlede" likely letters to any EA applicants? It would be logical if they didn't, since EA is only 4.5 weeks away...

It’s a marketing and recruitment tool. If they found instances when it was warranted, why not? But as a normal procedure? I don’t think they do it for non-athlete EA applicants.

FOUR AND A HALF WEEKS.

Holy craaaaaap.

They generally gave all the academic likely letters already, BEFORE the EA deadline. As T26e4 says, its a recruitment tool. They want those kids to apply early and stick with the decision. Once you’ve applied EA, there’s no point of getting a likely letter - you’ve done what they want - applied.

I had also seen letters of likely admission sent to the most coveted applicants right around January and Febuary, with hand written notes from the Admission office.

^-- same… while I haven’t really asked who got a likely from where, a couple close friends got their likelies in the spring.

I guess this is a difficult question since we have to go back to 2005 or something to check…
