@BreakfastClub1 Anxious to hear his experience, since it will be a little different than direct admit day. My son made the commitment and has enrolled, but still interested in any feedback!
I’m not sure if we have discussed the Darwin Turner Scholarship on this string but decisions are out. S received an email today and did not get scholarship.
@BreakfastClub1 How was Kelley this week? Has your son narrowed down his choices?
@CWAE182025 His visit went well and he loved the campus. He loved the fact that there was little pressure when you were already admitted to the business school. Standard academic gpa requirements except to maintain whatever merit scholarship you may have been given. He has not really “ruled out” any school but they have definitely been placed into an order. Right now I think it is IU and Miami. He visits Kentucky tomorrow/Saturday for Merit Weekend. Kentucky has a big draw from kids in our area (surprisingly in N OH). He did visit once and liked the campus, new student center was being built, dorms (nicest I have seen anywhere) and Lexington. He is keeping an open mind which is good. I think they were going to drive through Cincy on the way home. Way more work then we did as students. I think I looked at a brochure in our guidance office!
@BreakfastClub1
That sounds really great! You still have your work cut out for you!! Good luck!
Hello everyone - After all the re-visiting of schools, S has finally announced that he will be attending Miami U in the Fall. I hope the best for everyone in your decision and good luck!
Congratulations! What criteria did he use for his decision? I’m sure lots of top students are having the same choices and trying to weigh their Orion’s so it’d be really useful.
@BreakfastClub1 congratulations on a final decision. Good luck to your son!
@BreakfastClub1 Congrats on making the decision and good luck!
@BreakfastClub1 My S is going to Miami, too. He liked UC, but after doing some research on his own, came to the conclusion that Miami’s is just a stronger program. The weak merit aid offer from UC (even less than notoriously-stingy OSU) made it an easy choice.
