Linguistics 100 in Summer session

I might take this class for fun this summer during session A. Does anyone know how this class is?

It can be difficult if you don't have any previous background in linguistics. Consider taking Linguistics 5 (intro to Ling. for nonmajors). It's kind of like linguistics for future presidents, covers all the major topics without getting too serious and technical. Usually it's taught by Prof. Hyman, who's not always the most organized lecturer, but he's entertaining, witty, and keeps topics interesting.

I am a IB and Latin major. I have had a fair amount of encounters with linguistics in Latin and French.

Also I can only do a session A course. If I were here all summer, my mom would kill me and if I did summer session D instead I would be up here when all my quarter system friends finally get home.
