kiterunner18, being a legacy is a tip at Amherst, but it is not a “sure admit.” Good luck all!

^ Yes, but I would say someone who is a legacy is much surer of an admit than Student A and Student B who have no tips or hooks.

@ the_pakalypse - sorry, I don’t mean to shoot down your theory, but I have no link and my finaid stuff is (and has been) in.

pakalypse, an international still got the link even though (s)he is still “missing” a document.

OMG WT F THIS IS SO CRZY

This is not helping matters.
We have 15 hours left to the decision, can’t we all just… enjoy?

To everyone and Pakalypse especially, this is what an applicant who called Amherst has to say:
Quoted with all due respect to our own GB

YES! We are :D

Hmm interesting That link Pakalypse posted seems pretty legitimate. I was able to log in, and all my documents have been received. What about you guys?

@ bilgun
You are talking about the link pakalypse provided, right?

^^^^^^
Yep.

Well, I checked out Pakalypse’s link. It showed my file as having received all documents that I had sent them (basically only the CSS Profile, since my parents will only be filing their ITR’s on 31st March).
So yeah.
I don’t have the link on MyAmherst Page, incidentally.
I am now thinking that my initial theory i.e only those fin aid applications which HAVE been processed get the Financial Aid link shown on the MY Amherst page, was correct.
Anyway, guys… 11 hours 32 minutes.

@nintendosfreak
I m sorry because I ham always acting like a killjoy. My situation is same as yours. I sent only CSS sand it shows CSS received. I also do not have the link but then some international in the thread who had a missing document also said they had a link which said there FA was done but the link said they are missing documents.
OOOO Man ignore me I am so nervous that I am acting like a moron. I just hope we both get in Amherst and laugh about this anxiety for the next four years together.
Now how cool would be that.

@nemesis,
Following a couple of friendly punches for giving me a sleeples night first ![]()
But it’s like I said- maybe it’s done on a case to case basis- as in, if the FA office determines the aid foir an applicant, they accordingly update his My Amherst page, so maybe ours’ was tougher to determine.
Remember, after all, the FA Office DOESN’T know who gets in until 4th April.

This is my theory:

The finaid stuff is very, very glitchy. Someone on here earlier said that they got a link that says “your stuff is complete” or whatever. So now we have people with “view your award” links, “your stuff is complete” links, and people without links (including myself, who has everything in). I guess in less than 12 hours this who conversation will be moot. Just trying to calm some nerves.

Well, yes, it will be. Nervousness, it seems, does funny things to people.
Oh, and it’s 10 hours now.

Amherst is need-blind. If I was a FA officer I would review only the admitted applicants.
I think this is the way Belguun’s quote should be interpreted.

^ So what are you trying to say?

kiterunner, do you have the link?

Damn why do they have to update all of this online. I’d rather get rejected at 4:30 PM rather than get all these rejection hints.

This is shown on my Amherst financial aid update received list.

I guess this means I didn’t get in because if I did wouldn’t they have already created my financial aid packet because they would have ACCEPTED all the materials I sent?

This means rejection right?
