Does anyone know how current the Yolasite lists are for the various competitive and automatic scholarships?

This thread was made because http://automaticfulltuition.yolasite.com was last updated a while ago, so many of the listed scholarships have been changed or removed. In any case, any scholarships of interest should be checked on college web sites.

The http://competitivefulltuition.yolasite.com and http://nmfscholarships.yolasite.com lists are similarly old, so any scholarships of interest need to be checked on college web sites.

Note: the PVAMU scholarship is not available to frosh who took a gap year after high school graduation.

Troy University Deadline is December 1st for Consideration for Full-Ride, as we so painfully discovered today.

Looks like Troy no longer has automatic-for-stats full tuition or higher scholarships; the academic scholarships are now listed as competitive, and the amounts do not cover the full out-of-state tuition.
http://www.troy.edu/scholarships/undergraduate/troy-scholarships.html

Looks like University of Arizona has scholarships that are a few hundred dollars short of full tuition. 4.0 HS GPA, 1450 SAT or 32 ACT gives $12,000 in-state (in-state tuition = $12,200) or $35,000 out-of-state (out-of-state tuition = $35,700).
http://financialaid.arizona.edu/types-of-aid/scholarships/freshman-transfer
http://financialaid.arizona.edu/cost/freshmen

Arizona adds $5k/year and a one time foreign study subsidy for NMF’s.

Are the University of Arizona merit scholarships automatic for OOS students?

Yes, they are automatic. There is a calculator on the admissions site that will tell you what you are eligible for. For my D, admission to the honors college was also automatic.

@kcheves, do you recall if your D checked the box on her portal saying she was interested in applying for the honor college before they offered her automatic entrance into it? Just curious. My D applied recently, as U of AZ was a late find. She was not planning on applying to the honors college because the priority deadline has passed. She also didn’t know how much writing is involved in their application. However, under normal circumstances, she always applies to honors colleges and merit awards. Thanks for any info.

BTW, that chart on the admissions website says she should be offered $30,000! I’ll believe it when I see it

@Winky1 I believe AZ honors is automatic for national scholars.

Updates (compared to #50/#51):

Troy University: removed, since scholarships listed on web site are no longer automatic and no longer full tuition for out-of-state students.
Texas A&M - Kingsville: removed, since since scholarships listed on web site are no longer full tuition for out-of-state students. (Note: National Merit Finalist full ride available.)

My personal experience in 2016 is that UAM did not mail out the scholarship offer letter to my son; they said the scholarship amount will be disclosed to students when they came to orientation which was one week before the fall semester started. My son went to Louisiana Tech for a full ride in fall 2016.

@ucbalumnus @OHMomof2 Just for clarification, the Howard ones are not automatic. The scholarships are competitive and recipients are determined holistically as meeting the academic criteria does not guarantee them.

Just reporting that my D was accepted to the University of Arizona 3 days ago, and she did indeed receive a $30,000 per year scholarship!
