Ruben, I would definately look into some of the Foundation Schools. You don't have to be foundation to go there and the academy obviously approves of the curricula. Atleast thats what Im doing.

^^^ If you are an athlete and in need of maintaining your eligibility, certainly worth looking into doing a PG year even if it is outside of the official offer of a foundation sponsored scholarship. If not, then would suggest attending a Jr College or other 4 yr college and take courses similiar to what you would see during plebe year (chem, calc, english lit)- and then reapplying to the USNA for the following year. Just keep in mind, just a small number of the foundation schools are actual colleges- where you can earn college credit, no matter where you end up. The majority are not- therefore, the time and $$$ spent, while well worth the engergy, will not give you any college credits for the year. The advantage is that if you do play a sport, and you want to have 4 years of NCAA eligibility, then that is the way to go.

Having said that, if you get a foundation OFFER, do consider it!!!

My son got the call informing him of his appointment from our Congressman today. Best wishes to all.

Congratulations to all of those who have received their appointments!

If a candidate is now in the national pool for appointments through MOCs other than his own, does THAT MOCs office contact the appointee?

Does anyone know how many appointments have already been made?
