List -Fully Qualified - Anxiously Waiting

Not sure how other states operate, but in GA all candidates are treated by the MOC's as "ours." For example, my son will go to a reception in our congressional district for appointees, however, his nom was from a senator. I would assume most states treat this in a similar fashion, but could be wrong.

If a candidate is now in the national pool for appointments through MOCs other than his own, does THAT MOCs office contact the appointee?

[/quote]

You are in the National pool through the nomination you have with your own MOC. You don't actually get an appointment from another MOC's slot.
Qualfied candidates who have a congressional appointment but don't win their congressional slate all go into the "national pool" where they are chosen
by order of merit.

If you have a congressional nomination and win an appointment from the "national pool" your MOC will "claim" you - and rightly so. The MOC will not be charged.

'It's great to see some getting appointments. Any rejection letters yet? I haven't heard any sent out so far this year. '

Great question from socaldreamers, anybody get a rejection letter yet???

Even though i was told mid-February that the Board did not issue me an appointment when they reviewed my file, I have yet to receive a letter from USNA admissions. So I am guessing (as most of us do online) that appointment letters are taking the priority over rejection letters at this time.

Sorry for double messages...

So I have been racking my brain and trying to do anything to keep my mind off of the waiting period, but I just keep being brought back to the wonderful lists of questions and what if's.

I was wondering if someone could explain the nomination process from NAPS to the Academy. I just stopped by the web page of the congressman the gave me a nomination and I saw a list of five names including my own for the boat school. Only one other candidate had not applied for another service academy and that is a result of her current enrollment at NAPS. (finally the question) Does someone applying to the Academy from NAPS require a nomination? I ask this only because if I remember correctly, a student who has maintained a 2.0 QGPA at NAPS and meets the other specified guidelines will receive an appointment. Doesn't this simply disqualify other applicants due to technicality?

Again, sorry for the ramble....so much in my head right now.

Still waiting to hear and everything's been turned in since mid September.

DoDMERB status change today, fingers crossed!!!!

Problem is, I never received a scholastically qualified letter. Plus I didn't do sports (even though I am athletic). So, I have a strong thought that it's a rejection on its way.

Even if it is that, I have a full scholarship to Norwich University in the Corps of Cadets (without NROTC; pure school/federal aid). IMO, that's an amazing plan B, especially because its a direct commission with no commitment attached.

Our son received his letter of non-appointment. Thanks for all your help over the past two years.

Yes. They will be expected to apply to all of their sources.

go navy81, you're two for two with Navy. I guess that's Navy's loss and Air Force's gain. At least your girls will be together.

One of my classmates has two children at West Point. The oldest graduates this May.

^^^^ with two at USNA who are a year apart, I can say it's been great for both of them to be together - especially for the Plebe.

Congratulations!

GA- Yes defiantely USNA's loss and USAFA's win!!! 1st D is very happy with her choice and is loving life now the she has been recognized!!! 2nd is ready for the new challenge. Just hard to understand why with USNA!!! USNAD&G - I know that they will lean on each other especially the 4dig!!! It is really turning H(the USNA Grad) into a fighting Falcon fan!! Something about it being your child's school !!!

Our son received a regret letter yesterday, rally_crew is off the list. Many thanks for all support. Best of luck to all these amazing kids!
