<p>This is silly. It would be helpful to prospective students and parents if you would say why you like your favorite school the best. Too many of you are so interested in ranking, you are not even thnking about finding the right fit.</p>

<p>Oh, and by the way, I graduated from one of these six schools and teach at another.</p>

<p>Note that academic competence is weighted highly:</p>

<ol>
<li>Exeter (no doubt, the best academically; great school in other regards, too)</li>
<li>Andover (Exeter’s not-as-smart brother, but still great academics; main difference = much worse at math than Exeter)</li>
<li>Deerfield</li>
<li>Hotchkiss
(I don’t know a whole lot about 3 & 4, but they are definitely better than: )</li>
<li>Choate</li>
<li>SPS (beautiful campus seems to be the school’s only saving grace)</li>

<p>^^Exeter is better than Andover at math by an infinitely larger amount than Andover is better at Exeter at humanities. Though, if you want my honest opinion, Exeter is trying to become more like Andover in that we’re starting to soften up. Still, just look at the top 12 USAMO scorers this year: 5 of the 12 were from Exeter.</p>
