im going to BC, and i dont think we should be #5 haha, tufts maybe

No I would definitely agree, Tufts or BC as number 5 and drop Wellesley to number 7, though I think that Harvard should be ahead of MIT ;)

well im a little biased towards MIT, so dont take it personally

On the east coast, everyone's heard of Wesleyan.

ummm...I don't think so.

in the northeast, people who know colleges have heard of it. that is a more accurate. of course just because people who dont know about it doesnt mean its not a good school.

1) Harvard/MIT
2) Amherst/Williams/Tufts/Wellesley
3) Boston College/Smith/Brandeis
4) Mt. Holyoke
5) Boston University/Emerson
6) Northeastern/UMass-Amherst

I still don't think it's actually correct to be comparing LAC's with universities...completely different focuses/infrastructures/priorities.

Olin would be placed at #2 level as well. Ok, maybe not Wellesley, but Tufts easily with Amherst and Williams - They share the same applicant/entering student stats, teacher profiles and terminal degree percentages are the same, etc. Otherwise, vastly different insitutions; Amherst & Williams = 2 elite LACs, Tufts = elite small research university. I have never read/heard that academically there is any difference between those three (aside from CC).

Pennsylvania:
1. University of Pennsylvania

3. Carnegie Mellon
4. Haverford
5. Bryn Marw
6. Lehigh
7. Villanova

10. Lafayette

I just get the feeling I could have got into Tufts, and I could never get into Amherst/Williams

No offense...but that last Louisiana list is a complete joke. Also, I think Loyola and Tulane are a tad bit overrated...especially now that they have all of the budget/program cuts.
