GG…I am skeptical of FLAliving’s claim as well, as it is not consistent with my experience or other recruiter assessment scores that I have seen. Further, a check of FLAliving’s past posts shows he is an FSU peddler…I will stop short of saying ■■■■■, but he only has a few posts.

I don’t know what it is about FSU but they have a lot of students / alumni that do that.

I’ve never heard of ANYONE I know choosing SMU over UT. Most SMU kids are people that wanted to go to UT, but didn’t get in, and like the city of Dallas. I’m sure cross-admit pairs would prove me right if I could find any data on it…

Rogracer, I’d not go implying that poster is a ■■■■■ until you find out what industry is represented. An analysis of your own posts shows you are quite a UF peddler yourself. Don’t you have a son who attends UF?

As an FSU alumnus I can easily say that FSU is consistently underrated by many UF fans and that is one reason why I post. Indeed, it was certainly a factor in my signing up to post some years ago. Scrutiny of the two schools shows much more in common than not, especially when historical performance is considered.

We’ve got a lot of in-state rivalries in Florida. FSU-UF, UF-Miami, Miami-FSU, UCF-USF. If there isn’t already a FSU-USF rivalry then there probably will be one this fall when the two teams play each other this season.

p2n- yes, I have a bias toward UF largely because of my son and my experiences recruiting there. I am just pointing out that FLA_living, in prior posts, has implied negatives towards any school that wasn’t FSU (and UF in particular)…I won’t call him a ■■■■■ as of yet if he can offer objective evidence for his claims. If his list above is truly anything beyond conjecture, it must be a very large company indeed to have statistically significant results from all those schools.

Good for you. BUT you not knowing anyone doesn’t mean they don’t exist. I know people. And I’m sure others do too.

I’ve heard of FLA Living as a magazine or something similar. I believe it may concern real estate, of which FSU has a top-10 rated PhD program. His/her list may indeed be accurate.
Of course, how rankings translate into employment is another matter and personal experience is yet another variable.

^ I would agree with your post except I would move New College above USF. And with Georgia, I’m assuming that Georgia College and State University is another name for the University of Georgia? If not, UGa needs to have that third place spot haha.

this is just pathetic, who spends their time ranking colleges. you people make it seem that if you dont go to an ivy league school, or even a top 50 school that youre somehow a failure. enough of these rankings. seriously some people who are smart enough to get into mit and harvard dont even want to go there. rankings are all bs and have no merit. and for anyone whod like to say im bitter bc maybe i got rejected by some of these “best schools” (lol) it would be wrong. anyways im going to a school i love, Syracuse University. Its not Harvard, its not Yale, but i love it. (i would never want to go to NYU, Cooper Union, Vassar, or Cornell) so please enough rankings. and by the way i consider SU better than schools like Fordham (which i got accepted to).

Who spends their time making fun of people who enjoy doing this? Seriously, if you don’t like ranking systems, then there is no need to comment. There may be some on here who would say that you are (or me for that matter) a failure for not going to an Ivy or similair school. But I think the majority of the people on here wouldn’t consider Syracuse a bad school. Rankings do matter to an extent, because even with their shortcomings, they do provide a rough measure of which schools are “better” academically. And just because someone goes to a “better” school doesn’t make them any better than someone who quits after community college. Depending on what your career/future goals are, rankings DO provide some significance. I just think they are blown way out of porpotion with their importance, espcially on this site. But just chill out a little.

No way, Nova & UCF are not better than USF. Maybe Rollins, definitely not Nova, and UCF is roughly the same at this point.

I love all of the people overrating Lehigh, Lafayette, Bucknell and F&M.

lmao, take out GCSU and put in UGA, and you have a perfect list. but the inclusion of GCSU makes me ROFL.

I would never in a million years apply to any of them. I dont see what that has to do with anything, though. They’re still hilariously overrated by all of the silly rankings.
