I’m in the process of finalizing my list and I would appreciate some feedback!
I’m looking for a target school in California (OOS) that is of a medium size (between 10,000-20,000) and is affordable (coa under $45,000 or offers a lot of merit money)
my current list:
Miami University (Oxford, Ohio)
UVM
University of Denver/University of Colorado Boulder
maybe Udel
IU
Purdue
UW Madison
USC
UNC Chapel Hill (super reach-OOS)
Tulane
If anyone has any suggestions I’d love to hear them! (live in IL) I’m looking to narrow my list/add some schools with a smaller population.
Merit aid will depend upon your stats.
You need to look at CA private schools since the public schools give little merit aid.
Some suggestions not knowing your stats: Loyola Marymount, USC, USD (Univ of San Diego), University of the Pacific, Santa Clara University, University of Redlands, Claremont Colleges (Pitzer, CMC, Scripps, Pomona, Harvey Mudd). Run the NPC’s on all.
@Gumbymom Thank you! As for stats, my unweighted GPA is a 3.95 on a 4.0 scale and weighted it’s a 4.4. My ACT is a 33 and I did not/ and am not planning to take the SAT. I’ve taken three AP classes and am currently taking four more. (My other post includes more on my stats ecs etc)
Definitely consider the Claremont colleges if you are looking for a small school population and you are allowed to take classes at any of the 5 schools in the consortium.
