I was just wondering if anyone is listing clubs on their application, you know those clubs that you are a member but don't do much in them but have in fact been a member of them for 2 to 3 years?

National Honor Society
Mu Apha Theta
National Spanish Honor Society (I don't do anything in this club specifically;
however, I am heavily involved with other things relating to Spanish and
Latin American cultures outside of school).
International Thespian Society (Here again, I don't do anything as a member
although I am pretty active in theatre).

For me, National Spanish Honor Society and International Thespian Society are more like professional organizatons instead of clubs.

Or are most national honor societies more of an award/honor instead of a club since you have to meet certain criteria to be a member?

How is everyone else dealing with this?

same for me

so i'm bumping this

Thanks for the bump!

I also asked a similiar question under another thread about NHS. Is NHS a club, an achievement or honor?

Unless you are president of NHS; you really don't do anything. However, you do have to get accepted and the criteria to get in is based on other factors, not just academics.

I feel like if I list it, I look desperate, but if I don't list it the adcoms might think I could not get accepted in to it? I do know students who were rejected due to character and other stuff.

Yeah, someone help, same question here, is NHS club/honor/achievement??

I really do not want to list it as a club because I spend about 6 hours a year with it other than doing a little cs here and there that is organized by NHS. I am leaning more towards honor.

hmmmmmmmmm, well maybe it varies from chapter to chapter, but I know I had to do some 30 hours of service to stay in it last year...
