Listing ECs in IMPORTANCE.

Please take a quick look at my 10 lists of ECS.

1) Visit to D.C. Homeless experience 9,10,11,12 (400hrs) (one week / yr)

2) Varsity Fencing 9,10,11,12 (Team Captain, letter 9-11) (only about 4hrs a week)

3) Disabled Center volunteer 9,10,11 (100hrs)

4)County Orchestra 9,10,12

5)Music Honor society (President/ Project coordinator)

6)Jr.Civitan Service club (President/ Treasure)

7)ER Hospital Volunteer 9,10,11,12 (100hrs)

8)Emory summer science camp 11 (64 hrs summer)

9)Beta club (Coordinator, officer only my sophomore year)

10)All-state Orchestra 9th (Only!)

Now, I cannot order the list in importance.
Which ECs do you guys think is stellar/bad?
Club positions vs outside volunteer works etc...
and I am also involved in about 13 school clubs. Do I mention this anywhere in the app?

Thanks alot!

Do not tell colleges you’re in 13 clubs. Contrary to what high schoolers think, having countless clubs will not help you. Instead of being the person who dabbles in a little bit of everything, you want to show dedication to a few things.

And no one but you can organize the importance of your ECs. It is the order of importance TO YOU, not the order of how the adcoms will like it.

Best regards,
Mike

I also agree with LeHigh. Include the ECs that you’ve been involved in the longest. And defiantly DON’T include that you’re in 13 clubs. It would make you seem to spread out and unfocused.
