listing majors...

<p>hey everyone
this is actually a general question that I couldn't find the right forum for but here goes</p>

<p>when applying to schools, does listing your major have an effect on your admissions?</p>

<p>for instance, if I apply to unc-chapel hill and choose biology as my major (a major that is popular at unc), would that have any more effect on my admissions than if I listed something else?? or does listing your major not matter at all</p>

<p>I don’t think it really matters, but if you pick an obscure major that the university wants more of, they might be more willing to pick you. But that’s just what I read. And people change their majors all the time throughout college, so the college people will probably take what you put down with just a grain of salt anyway, so I’m sure it’s not really important at all.</p>
