When filling out an app and you want to list an award, should you include scholarships that are awarded. For instance:

1st place in county science fair - $45000 scholarship at University X
Such and Such Science Award - $30000 scholarship at University Y
National Thingamajig Competition - $2000 Scholarship

In the example above, one scholarship could be used anywhere and that, of course, would be listed in any FA. But the others just feel a little odd saying that you got money from other schools when you are applying to a different one. On the other hand you do want to let everyone know that you won something substantial (besides a piece of paper).

I could always list it as a scholarship but not list the college or just say that I won a scholarship at University X but don't list the dollar amount.

I just don't know what is acceptable and proper.

List it, and add that it was declined (e.g. Such and Such Science Award - $30000 scholarship at University Y (DECLINED)). Include the value. That’s what my prof and the career counselling center at my university told me to do.

I am planning on applying to those universities. I guess you mean to mark it declined except for the apps to those particular schools. So in the above example the scholarship for university Y would show as declined on all apps but the app for unversity Y. Seems a little ackward and I would have to be very careful about marking it correctly when I send my apps out.

Oops. I’m having an air-head day, and didn’t read your post thoroughly enough. Disregard my prior advice, until you’re writing a CV or resume later on. Sorry!

I’d just include them all, with no mention of declining, and definitely include the value (some scholarships vary in value based on GPA/SATs/etc., so bigger is better). It shows you’re wanted elsewhere (people and schools want what others want), so I’d include it.
