so i noticed that the uc app says you can list stuff from ninth grade. is that a good idea? i'm thinking it couldn't hurt. my only problem is i'll need to dig up files because i can't remember any dates lol there's no way to see your old uc app (or even common app) right?

sorry, i dug up my old info (i had actually saved the review page heh) and now i’m wondering… should i only list general stuff (like volunteering at a hospital) and not necessarily other stuff? because i was going to be a science major and i have all this science ec’s that aren’t exactly relevant for my english major…

I have the same question.I did sports in high school so I wonder if I could put these in as extracurricular activities?also,may I place my senior volunteeer work for high school graduation as part of volunteer work in general?

I remember hearing (but I can’t remember where exactly:/ ) that if you did something for 3+ years in hs, then include it. If not, then don’t.

seems like a good rule of thumb to me

jesus, just got off the phone with a rude and extremely unhelpful woman who told me, um, nothing :/

anyway, i guess the 3+ thing sounds good, thanks redoplease.

I only did 2 years of sports.one sport in fall and the other in spring.sports done in junior and senior year.

I don’t think they care about that for transfers…unless it’s like something really special

yeah that’s what i thought and then i saw the “ninth grade” thing… oh well D:

Don’t do it. Only tell them things from your college experience. Unless it is something really important or highly related to your major, then the UCs wouldn’t care for it. You’re transferring from college not High School lol

I was told this from multiple school representatives including one that I closely work with.

@wingedyoshi

yeah, that’s what i’m gonna do. thanks for the info!

I did it because I did absolutely nothing in college :)

@christian612

I didn’t do anything either…except I taught myself how to build a computer and I’ve built two…should I put that?

I feel like a failure for not having any community service, never had a job (cus i never needed one!), and never got any awards…

I feel the same way… I’ve done some tutoring and babysitting here and there but that’s basically it for college X curriculars. I really hope my 4.0 and essays will get me into Cal and LA.
