<p>I prepped for CR and was getting all 800s and then got a 700 the first time and a 730 the second time. That sucked.

<p>No prep, never taken AP lit. The poetry in Lit makes it harder (for those of us non-englishy people). Also the knowledge/term questions are impossible unless you are a literary freak.</p>
<p>I find my test scores funny because I took each twice and they reversed!</p>

<p>I studied for Lit, not for CR, though I'm certain studying for Lit boosted my CR score.</p>
<p>I guess the general trend is that there isn't a significant discrepancy, but usually Lit < CR.</p>

How much did you guys prep? for those that got 700+</p>
<p>I also got 660? on my first practice test--Kaplan, no prep but not timed (went 10 min over)</p>
<p>Exactly how much prep do I need to do for Lit? Is a month enough? I plan on using Kaplans and probably do 4 practice tests..</p>
<p>Also, did anybody else find that prepping for Lit helped their CR? </p>

<p>I didn't prep. English class was enough. All four years have been Literature based for me and taking AP English Lit this year was the most helpful since its the same type of test as the Literature SAT II but way harder so just being in that class was the most help (and reason for my 50 point increase the second time). That makes me think that you can't really prep for it if you haven't been doing a lot of Literature for all of high school though I'm sure taking loads of practice tests over the month before will help just speed you up since that's the biggest killer on the test IMO.</p>
<p>my strategy was getting Cs in english and reading lots of stephen king. try that.</p>

I'm taking an AP English (AP lang and composition) class right now so hopefully that'll help. We dont really learn that much..some literary terms here and there.. but we're doing some hardcore practice in the spring for the AP exam so I'm hoping I'll be able to improve by doing those</p>

I didn't prep for CR, and found it very hard to prep for Lit. The best way to prep is probably to just read challenging fiction and think about what you're reading. Learning the literary terms will help a little, but your literary analysis skills are really what's being tested.</p>

<p>I didn't really prep for each. I read over the study guide books but found that there really isn't a way to prep. In my opinion, that kind of stuff- passage based reading for the SAT and lit analysis for SAT Subject- it's hard to prep for. Beyond basic knowledge of vocab and lit terms most of it is analysis.</p>
<p>My best friend scored a 750 on SAT CR and a 750 on SAT Literature ...</p>
