Anyone know what the curve is like on these things? How many can I get wrong to still get about a 700-730? Also, how does it compare to the AP exam?

The curve is usually the harshest or tied for the harshest of all the subject tests. 790 is 99th percentile (few have a 99th below 800, if one at all).

-3 or -4 would probably land you around 720-730, depending on the test.

-3 = leaving 3 blank, leaving 2 blank and 1 wrong, or leaving 1 blank and 2 wrong

-4 = leaving 4 blank, getting 3 wrong, or some other combination of -1s and -1.25s.

(Points are subtracted, then raw score is added up, so a -2.5 would actually just be a -2.)

Actually, I just checked, and I was very wrong. The official released curve for a past test has -11=730. Must have had the regular SAT in my head.

So you can get ~9 wrong and still get around 730.

Haha thanks, I was about to say only -3 or 4 for a 730. :O!

Can you give me a link to the released curve?

Actually, I can’t find it online. It’s in the Official SAT Subject Test Study Guide. There will also be comparable curves in the other Lit study books.
