Little late, but chance me please?

I realize these are usually really boring, but I'd appreciate it (even though I already applied, go figure, I just want to steel myself for rejection if it is imminent):

Basics:

5) Volunteering
not my forte, (I love the community, I've just been moving a lot and havent had a chance to settle down). I've done a lot of random things, have 100+ hours amassed but with very little clear connection...

6) Work: I've worked 20 hours a week at a restaurant for a year now.

7)awards:
I've won a lot of local and state competitions for writing and technology. Award of Excellence at state for a poem so far, it's going to national competition.

8) My essay was really good, I think, and my letters of recommendation were very good.

So, honestly, what are my chances? As you see it. I know it's a far reach, but I had to try...

Believe it or not, if you went to a crappy public school, that might pull you up a bit. Your strength also appears to be in writing and the literature side, along with some flashes of leadership . Hopefully, you emphasized that in your applications. And you’re working in a restaurant–how many people do that nowadays? It’s certainly a reach (as Columbia is for most of its applicants these days), but not outside the realm of possibility.

Good luck to you in your college search!

Less than a month left!!

I dont get why going to a crappy public school would be good.
