So I'm gonna be transfering to a UC or State school pretty soon (next year) and I'm torn between 2 choices. I really wanna live in the city (SFSU maybe?) because I've just always wanted to live there and have that lifestyle. But at the same time I want to go to UCSC (doing the TAG program), and I know that school is better. I really like the campus but I am still very undecided between the 2. Can someone please give me some opinions about each of these 2 schools, or just transfering in general? Thanks

Go to UCSC then get a job and move to SF when you get out in a few years. The best of both worlds. Living in the city as a poor college student isn’t as much fun as it will be with a few bucks in your wallet.

^Exactly. Have you lived the “industrial city” life before? Things are (more) expensive. If you have the money, then go ahead and enjoy SF. Otherwise, take the opportunity to enjoy CA’s other spectrum. If I attended school (or maybe even worked) in SF, then I’m pretty sure I’d live outside the city somewhere a little cheaper and hope the commute costs don’t offset me since SFSU is a straight shot from I280 and Hwy 1.
