Live on campus or live at home?

I am one of the many that can choose live at home and comute to UTD (20 mins away from my house). However, I want to recieve as much of the college experience as possible and be forced to be responsible. I know UTD is a commuter school, but I want to learn how to grow up without be babied by my parents all of the time. I only want to live on campus freshmen to meet new people and gain connections, and I plan to stay home sophmore year. But the thing is, I plan on going to medical school and I don't want to be in debt when I get out. I will only be at UTD for two years until I get my Bachelor's (have enough credits to be considered a junior) so I want to make the most of my college experience. What should I do? I didn't recieve any AES. Would it be worth it?

It’s a lot of money. Is “the college experience” worth ~$10k to you? Tack on the that the price of a meal plan that you’re required to purchase for the dorms as well. From what I’ve heard, there are plenty of activities for commuters, so you wont be missing out that terribly. The only difference I think would be you have to take the initiative to be social.

@Urbanll Thank-you for your advice. You are right about the money part. Since I do plan on going to graduate and medical school, it would be wise to save as much money as possible.

I would stay at home
