Staying at Home or Moving Out

Hey all, don't want to write an essay for yall but this is my situation long story short. I am JR. at UTD economics major

Stay at home and go to UTD.
Pros: Good job, save money, good internship with an NBA DLeague team, a lot of friends still here (have college party life here as well to smaller extent). Parents have good repor with me
Cons: UTD is a horrible school for the college experience, dont really see myself fitting in with the majority of the student body.

Go to St. Edwards, live in Austin.
Pros: Live on own and live the college lifestyle.
Cons: Job insecurity (would have to find one but not in dire need asap), would have to borrow 7k to go to st. edwards, an OK school.

ALSO: I signed a lease without knowing I could cancel it, so I am contractually bound to a 6k 12 mo lease (currently looking to sublease). Yet for my father this 6k would be saving him more money if I stayed (he wouldnt have to load 7k every year for St edwards until i graduate)

I know this is a very tough decision, would like some opinions

I’d live at home and save money. I lived at home when I went to college. Back in those days, the idea of having to have “the college experience” wasn’t so prevalent…we were just glad to go to college! I saved the “living on my own” experience for when I got my after-graduation job…it’s a lot more fun living on your own when you have MONEY.

You’ll appreciate not having $30K+ loans to pay off after you graduate.

You don’t actually know that St. Ed will provide you with the “college experience” you’re looking for. Why did you choose St. Ed over other schools? What’s the difference in terms of opportunities for your major? You’ve already got an internship, have a social life, what do you expect St. Ed to provide that you don’t already have?

Many choose to go away. they do not feel like staying at home. You are not the only one. Many who decided to go to local UG, still move out. They live either in dorms or with friends. Do whatever you want to do. We do not know what it is, though.
