Lived in Texas for 3 years. Advantage for UT Austin?

hey guys.
i'm an international student
i'm just searching around for colleges and one of the top ones on my list is UT Austin, not just because its a great school but also because i lived in Dallas for 3+ years, basically middle school and freshman year of high school so i know that area. i'm an indian btw. I have lived in India before and after those 3 years in Dallas.
my question is
does the fact that i lived in Texas give me any sort of advantage in the admission process or not? i'm hoping it does :P

and if my test scores will help
SAT -2240 (Math-780, Reading-750, Writing-710)
TOEFL-116/120
both on first try
and i'm taking subject tests in Math 2, Physics and Chemistry

No, you need to graduate from a Texas high school to be considered a resident for admission purposes. Otherwise you are considered an international student. The difference is very significant in terms of selectivity and cost.

thanks! yeah i was wondering even if I am treated as international, and if I am up against some other international student with the same type of scores and EC’s as me, will it be a tiebreaker of sorts or do they not care at all?

They don’t care at all.

damn allright! Thanks a lot!

Do you have a greencard ? Where do you live now ? For your senior year of HS will you be in Texas or somewhere else ? That’s what matters.
