Living in IV

Hi, I'm wondering about living in International Village.
Because of my scholarship, I'm mandated to be in the honors program/live in honors housing. I'll be honest - I'm wondering if living in the honors section of IV is at all anti-social, etc. I'm someone who likes to have a good time, and while I know getting into parties will take a little time, I was wondering if people drink in dorm rooms in IV or if the overall tone is overtly scholarly and no one is down for that. Thank you to anyone who can help answer this!

There are very scholarly people and there are… Not so scholarly people.
Sometimes people do drink in their rooms in IV, but it usually isn’t exactly quiet, and the walls in that building are not particularly thick, and there’s a decent chance you’ll get busted. Probably not the best idea, though I never felt the urge to try.

I can’t imagine how living in a huge building with hundreds of students would be anti-social! IV is a great place to live and I don’t know why it has been taking such a beating on cc threads lately. With so many students you will find ones who are like you. The building has everything you need - gym, laundry, dining hall, an enclosed bamboo garden, a computer lab with printers, rooms to hang out in, lounges, etc. It is more convenient to the T (Ruggles/orange line is a much better line than the green line) and probably just as close to most classes as any other freshman dorm. The rooms are great - air conditioned (with your own thermostat), spacious compared to other dorms, well lit, large windows, nicely furnished, real walls (not concrete blocks), and you get a semi-private bath.
