Living near the U (Minneapolis)?

I'm looking at some great apartments near Stadium Village and want to sign (they're new and sort of luxurious for the price, honestly), but my folks are worried it's too far from campus. I don't know my class schedule yet since I'm a late decision transfer, but I'm aiming for mostly geneds this year, which I hope will put me primarily on the East Bank?

The apts are right by a green line stop, and two bus stops. I've also always been someone who heads to my classes/the area I need to be like an hour early (morning person 100000%), so I guess I'm less concerned than I maybe should be. Is this too far from campus? I'm also hoping to eat mostly at the apt.

I was turned down for on campus housing (well waitlisted), and the only other place I considered looking into was Seven Corners, but that has bad reviews...and the rent doesn't seem all-inclusive like the other place.

Thoughts?? Please help!

Anything in Stadium Village definitely isn’t too far.

As a parent, I would be perfectly happy with my child living in Stadium Village. There are some great places for kids to eat and it really does seem like its own neighborhood with tons of restaurants and the rail/bus.

My son will be living in Prospect Park. He feels he can walk to the university, or at least to the Green Line. He can also walk to a bus stop. He has a car, but will not buy a parking pass. He only plans to use it for weekend trips to the grocery or to go to work off campus if he can’t find a job on a bus or light rail line. If you’re able to wait until Sept 1 to move in, you should have plenty of pickings. We had a tough time finding a place with an earlier move in time, but are happy with what we found and hope son can stay there even after he graduates,as it is not student housing and has a variety of residents, from families to retirees.

Not far at all! A lot of the campus housing is further than some of the apartments there. And you’re right, you do get some luxurious treatment at some of those places : ) Washington is a straight shot into the heart of East Bank. Plus you’re surrounded by lots of food!

Also, the campus connector, a free U of M bus, drives up and down Washington Ave from Stadium Village (I think the cross streets for that stop are Ontario & Washington) to West Bank with stops along the way near Coffman. That’s super handy in the winter time especially. Runs every 5 mins or so.
