Living off campus as a Freshman

<p>Hey guys, now that the housing application got pushed back until the 24th, I would like to hear your opinions on living off campus as a freshman.</p>

<p>At the moment, my parents are considering buying a condo in SLO.
A couple things to keep in mind:</p>

<p>I would have to pay for a dorm, but not the condo.
A meal plan is mandatory regardless, I think?
I am out of state

<p>I know a guy who has had to live off campus because of severe allergies to different foods. He can’t even be around certain foods. So his parents bought a condo off campus. He doesn’t have a meal plan because he has to buy special foods at a health food store.</p>
