living on-campus: ROCKOFF apartment or residence hall?

Which type of residence housing is better? I was assigned to rockoff hall apartments, but I was thinking of switching to a residence hall in college ave. Residence ehall require a compulsory meal plan so how is the food at the dining halls?

rockoff hall is more expensive than residence hall but residence hall+meal plan is more expensive.

I am a parent. My friend’s son lived at Rockoff and he didn’t like it because it was not really on a campus and there were various ‘non-students’ hanging around all the time in front of the building.

Regarding buses, here is an old post regarding the bus stop for Rockoff:

“the EE doesn’t stop directly at rockoff on the way from douglass to college ave. it stops a block up, by the state theater right in front of a church (stop is called ‘liberty street’) but on the way back from college ave the EE stops at rockoff. the F also stops at liberty on the way to college ave but only stops in front of the ‘civic building’–one of the mason gross buildings in downtown nb–on the way back.”

College Ave will be more of a campus experience. Unfortunately, from what my son and many of his friends say, the College Ave dining hall is the least attractive. That’s very subjective, however, and you can eat on whatever campus you happen to be on so it’s not that critical. Many people love College Ave.; not sure I can say the same about Rockoff.

Rockoff is good if you can’t get any other apartment space and you dread living in a dorm.
