Hello,

I am a currently debating whether or not to attend UCSD any have a few questions that I need answered.

1.) How bad is the UCSD meal plan? I'm a pretty big boy and I do consume a lot of food. So will I be able to eat enough with the given meal plan?

2.) I was accepted into Sixth College. However, after going to Triton Day, I was not very fond of the dorms. So my question is, is it possible to live in Muir/Marshall/ERC even though I am in Sixth?

1) You can always buy extra meal points at a discount. And I doubt you’ll be relying on dining halls for all your meals. Costco’s close enough, just make friends w/someone who has a car and get everything else you need there. (Ralph’s and Trader Joe’s are much closer)

2) Pony up. It’s a small price to pay to meet people in your college and going through the same things as you are. I was in a suite of ten girls my freshman year, and now four of us are living in NYC – it’s good to forge those connections early. And Sixth is close to the center of campus!

Astrina, thank you for your advice. Really means a lot :)

i find guys finish out their meal plan at least a month before the school year ends. but girls always have more (i am generalizing here though). i always have over $1000 left during spring quarter TT>TT

you’ll grow fond of the dorms. you may not like how they look right now, but they’ll grow on you. and as many CCers on here say, college is what you make of it. heck, anything is what you make of it.
