So... I wanted to know what the Living Learning Community is like at UD. Is it pretty cliquey, or not really? Is there a certain type of person or aspect of a personality that you have so you're compatible with this whole idea?

I'm a girl going into Engineering at UD, so i'm pretty sure that i would be joining the LLC for that and i'm thinking maybe of getting into one. Before on deciding on joining one, i want to know what it's like first.

Thanks to whoever answers this!

No, the llcs aren’t really a huge deal. The big plus that you get from living in one is that you’re living in the same area with a bunch of people with your same interests (and same major) and who are in your classes. As an engineering major this would be great, because you’d have people to study with.

LLCs aren’t a big deal at all and some people don’t even realize they are in one. I got placed in one that I didn’t choose because it required a Sociology class that didn’t fit any requirement for Engineering (I’m a ChemE). They didn’t have the Engineering LLC when I was a freshman but I probably would have picked it for the reasons the previous poster said (studying, etc.). It’s great to meet other female engineers early on. If you don’t want to do the LLC though you can still meet a bunch of female engineers at SWE (Society of Women Engineers) meetings! Everyone will meet each other soon enough though. I am living with three other engineers that I didn’t meet until sophomore year.
