Lloyd Hall Scholars Program

I have been searching the forum and found some posts about LHSP, but very few have people's accounts of being in it (most are just descriptions or about requirements of the program). Could any who is or has been in LHSP comment on his or her experience (especially from a guy's perspective)? Thanks ahead of time!

Bump
I also want more info on this program

My son did the LHSP back in the day. It was a nice way to make a large university experience more intimate in the first year. It also gave him an avenue to muck about in the arts in an less formal way, which was a good fit for his interests. For example, although he was studying music tech, he enjoyed writing poetry as a hobby or taking some of the seminar courses such as comic book creation. I think it likely gave him another community in which to find like-minded people across disciplines. Eg. A pal in Engineering with a mutual interest in the arts, etc.

At the school of music, theatre, and dance, scheduling can be hectic, but he seemed to manage the few required LHSP meetings and functions without too many conflicts. I suspect the program attracts creative types. In general, they seemed to have fun  I know he’s kept in touch with a LHSP gang throughout the rest of his time at the university, and suspect this cohesion came from having the extra element of “community.”

That said, there are many ways to make Michigan “smaller” – LHSP is simply one way that likely suits folks with varied interests in the arts. I’m afraid I don’t have much more info to share, except the observation that he really enjoyed it, and it fit with his multiple interests and gave him a venue to expand them.
