So I'm considering the merits of the Lloyd Hall Scholars Program and the Residential College. Would they have comparable small-college/personal attention feels? I'm kind of intimidated by the RC's intensive language program, as I took three years of high school Spanish and was still pretty terrible at it. As for Lloyd Hall, I love the poetry and writing, but I have no artistic talent per se.

Could anyone compare/contrast, or tell me more about them?

My son enjoyed Lloyd Hall this year enormously - -very fab writing/lit classes, great group of people. Meetings and club requirements abound, just so you know. Def. small personal feel.
He had been interested in RC, but could not do it because he has a learning disability that interferes with conversational language level (auditory processing disorder). It was much simpler to integrate Lloyd program with his intense BFA prog. up at the School of Music in terms of scheduling.

That said, Lloyd is a 1st yr program, RC is a 2 year program. We know lots of kids who love RC as well. We also know they find the 8-credit language tough (but rewarding). So it really depends on your comfort level with language.
Good luck!
