LMU EA

Anyone applying to LMU EA? Just thought I’d start up a thread.

I am applying to the biology/pre-med program! Very nervous about it, too.

I’m applying EA to the film school!! I don’t think I’ll get in (lack of film ECs) but it’s worth a shot.

Applied EA to International Relations

applying EA Finance

Applied EA for communications studies, when is the last day we are supposed to hear back?

Didn’t realize there was already a thread, started my own too (whoops)… I applied on 10/21 for biochemistry/pre-vet, just have access to the portal with the checklist of my app documents. Has anybody heard anything else other than that?

D applied to EA to Studio Arts. She was told she’d hear something before XMAS. She’s keeping fingers crossed she gets accepted. She discovered a typo on her common app essay, so she’s worried.

I applied Communications EA

I applied EA to Film Production. Excited to hear from them!

Any idea when EA acceptances will go out?

They should start going out the week of 12/11 and will continue to go out until the last day which according to the site is 12/20. Good luck!

Thank you!

Really anxious to hear back from this school. Does the date you apply have to do with when you are accepted?

I’m not sure about that. My gut feeling is that yes, if you applied early you’ll hear back sooner, within the time frame they give. My D applied at the last possible minute (literally) for EA deadline, so she’s not expecting to hear anything for a few weeks.

I applied last minute too. Do you think they will tell me after December 20?

If you applied ED, or EA, I’m guessing you will hear prior to Dec. 20th. From what I can remember the Admissions person told my D that she’d know by Dec. 15th. For EA. Unfortunately, she sent the draft version of her final common app essay, instead of the final version, so things aren’t looking so great for her. She just discovered this on Friday. What she sent wasn’t bad, but the last paragraph is missing so it’s a bit confusing. Keeping fingers crossed, the rest of her stats get her accepted, although at this point, it’s not looking so great!

My son applied EA on October 29 for Animation and also is still waiting for a notification. He’s a little worried because he applied for admission to another school’s game design program a few days later and already received an acceptance letter from the second university. But if letters won’t even start mailing until the week of the 11th, we will put the worry on the back burner until that week…LOL

Good plan, njsmommy! The waiting is fun and exciting and unnerving all at the same time. D heard back from her other EA school, so at least we know she got in to one school. Takes the pressure off having one acceptance, doesn’t it?

Yes, Mimi, I totally agree! I went to college in the 80s and can’t believe how much more pressure kids are under when trying to get into college today. I applied to only two colleges, got into both and enrolled at Marquette University and had a blast. In high school I was a B student, involved in a few activities and seemed like just an average teenager, and I don’t remember worrying about admission at all – seemed back then that if you wanted to college, you pretty much got in (obviously with the exception of the Ivies and elite schools). What academic studies would your daughter like to pursue at LMU?
