Has anyone else applied to LMU Early Decision for Fall 2018? If so what are your: GPA W/UW, SAT/ACT composite score, Extra-Curricular Activities and what major are you applying for?
Also, has anyone heard from or know when we should expect to hear about acceptances? They came out 11/23 last year and I know they come out before 12/1.
I just wanted to start a thread because there is one for last year but there doesn’t seem to be one for this year. Good luck to everyone!
Hello!
I applied EA to LMU’s Film Production program with a 3.75 UW and 33 ACT. I have yet to hear from them, but when I toured the admissions office said to expect decisions in mid-December.
My GPA W is 4.0 & UW is 3.6
SAT is 1240
ACT is 28 (33 English, 35 Reading, 19 Math, 26 Science)
EC’s - Red Cross Blood Drive for 3 years, Varsity Track & Field, did charity in Africa for 3 years, did high school tours over the US to encourage staying in school and stop bullying, World languages club for 3 years etc. (I have quite a lot of EC’s but I feel these are the ones that stood out more)
Do you guys think I have a good chance? I also applied ED. We find out Dec 1, I’m nervous and excited at the same time. Good luck to everyone, hope to get acceptances!
is pretty accurate. Find yourself on the scattergram and then also take into account that your ECs and the fact that you’re applying ED will both make your application stronger. I personally don’t think you have anything to worry about. Good luck!
Thank you so much, I’m definitely going to try that link! As for the notification date, I attended about 3 events at LMU for prospective students over the past 3 months, and some of the admissions faculty that I spoke to said ED get notified Dec 1 (onwards) and EA get notified Dec 20 (onwards). But you’re also right! There is a possibility that some ED applicants will be notified earlier this week before Dec 1, but I don’t think it’s a whole lot, majority of us will find out this Friday. Hope this helps!
Hey, so I applied for Early Decision for the animation program, but was deferred. I’m really upset about it, and I have no idea how competitive the animation program is and what to expect. I’m 99% I was deferred because I applied for animation, since my GPA unweighted is a 4.05, and my SAT is a 1230. Any thoughts?
My son was admitted to School of Film and Television. We are so grateful! His stats:
Weighted GPA - 3.8
ACT - 28
Film portfolio submitted, and with resume of many short films that he’s been creating for several years.
We visited USC and UT-Austin, the two other major contenders, but neither campus or program had the same inviting feel as LMU. We’ll be sending him off to LA from our comfortable home in St. Louis. A dream come true!
Congrats to all who are making it in! All the best to you!
